My toolbox

You will run the same setup many times: three reference images → storyboard image → video → dub, and the next film uses that same chain. DOTV's toolbox is where you save a whole group you have built, so next time it lays itself out in one click — a proven AI video workflow you never have to build again. This section covers saving a setup, using one, and where it lives.

Save a setup

The toolbox saves by group — first put the pipeline into a group (see 9.2), then click Add to toolbox on the toolbar:

Add to toolboxSaves the whole group — container, the nodes inside, the edges between them, prompts and settings — as a toolbox. Once this group has been saved, the button reads Update toolbox.
With a group selected, the Add to toolbox button on the toolbar.

The dialog asks for three things:

  • Cover — by default it stitches the first few images in the group together; you can also upload your own;
  • Name — defaults to the group's name;
  • Tags (up to 5) and Notes — write down when to use it and how; in two months you are the one reading it.

What gets stored is a snapshot of the group: the container, every node in it, the wires between them, each node's prompt and settings, and the images already generated. So it is a template and a worked example at once.

Once a group has been saved, that button turns into Update toolbox — it opens the update page: pick an existing one to overwrite, and only the contents and cover are replaced; the name, tags and notes stay as they were.

Use a setup

The toolbox icon on the bottom toolbar opens My toolbox:

A saved toolboxOne card is one saved workflow: a cover (stitched from the first few images in the group), a name and tags.

The My toolbox panel: one card is one saved workflow.

Two ways to lay one down:

  • Click Use on the cover — it lands in the middle of the current view;
  • Drag the card onto the canvas — it lands wherever you drop it.

What lands is a fresh copy: every node gets a new id, the wires inside the group are re-pointed to match, and it has nothing more to do with the canvas you saved it from — changing this copy does not touch the original group. Once it lands the group is selected, so you can move or delete the whole thing straight away.

Where it lives

A toolbox belongs to your account, not to one canvas or one project — save it in project A and it is still there in project B. Delete is the bin at the top right of the card cover; it deletes the template, and copies already laid out on canvases are unaffected.

Try it in DOTVReading only goes so far: open DOTV and make an AI video with the feature this section covers.
