DOTV guide

From a one-line idea to a finished cut: how and when to use every DOTV feature, in one place.
DOTV is an all-in-one AI video creation platform: write the script, break it into shots, generate images and video, add voice and composite the final cut on a single infinite canvas — and an Agent can run the whole pipeline for you. This guide follows the order you create in: projects and canvases first, then images, video, audio, scripts and storyboards, the video editor and the Previz, and finally workflows, collaboration and your account. Every section comes with a live UI demo you can step through, so you see what you read.

Making your first AI video with DOTV? Read these in order and you will go from a new project to a finished clip.

1. Projects and canvases

Create projects and learn the canvas workspace and its three views (Chat / Workflow / Storyboard) — the first step in making AI video with DOTV.

2. Node types

Everything on the canvas is a node. This chapter covers what all nodes share: creating, selecting, connecting and editing.

3. Images

Generate, edit, upscale and reshoot images in DOTV — angles, lighting and fifteen one-click presets.

4. Video

From image to video: generation, trimming, subtitle removal, upscaling, audio separation, frame grabs and video understanding.

5. Audio

AI voice and narration: text to speech, the voice library, voice cloning, pause and tone markers, waveform editing.

6. Script and shots

Turn a short story into a film-grade shot list, confirm it, then lay out every shot at once — fewer detours, fewer wasted credits.

7. Video editor

The multi-track timeline that joins clips into a finished cut: trimming, transitions, subtitles, preview and export.

8. Previz

Place people, props and cameras in a 3D scene and capture stills as composition references — or animate the scene and export a previz video: shots you can't describe, you can just stage.

9. Building workflows

Connections, groups, grid groups, running a whole group, auto-arrange and the toolbox: turn one good run into a reusable pipeline.

11. Storyboard operations

In the storyboard view: the detail panel, editing in place, filtering, key elements, ordering and bringing items into the chat.

12. Agent

Tell the Agent what you want and it builds nodes, writes prompts and generates on the canvas for you; Skills give it proven playbooks.

13. Collaboration

Several people on one canvas in real time: presence, following, and how node sync resolves edits.
